How to make Fila Skeletoes smell better?

I recently purchase Fila Skeletoes. I really enjoy the shoes and they are really comfortable. However, there is one major problem. They started to stink after only a few days of use. Now, I do not have normally stinky feet and none of my other shoes smell. Since Skeletoes are not normal shoes, I am not sure as to what the safest way to wash them is. Also, my Physical Education teacher has them and does not wear socks with them. I do not do this either. Is that the problem? If so, How can I prevent this from continuing?

The Quick way:

Get a bucket of warm water and a box of Efferdent denture cleaning tablets (without Scope/Listerine).
Put one tablet in each shoe, and 4 tablets in the bucket.
Let the shoes soak in the blue and bubbly warm water for at least 15 minutes.
*Scrub the insides with an old toothbrush (optional, gets rid of skin cells)
Rinse with water.
Air dry near a window or with a fan.

While direct sunlight might fade or damage the fabric if you don't care just throw them outside on a porch or hot deck for an hour or so.

The Cheap way:

Soak overnight in Water and Vinegar. (3 parts water, 1 part vinegar)
Air dry.

The Other Vinegar way:
Soak overnight 3:1 ratio water to vinegar.
*Scrub the insides with an old toothbrush (optional, gets rid of skin cells)
*Rinse with water (optional because it's theorized that not rinsing the shoes, leaving the vinegar in the fabric, MIGHT prevent smells from coming back as quickly.)
Air dry.
